Hello, I’m Robbie Hancock! I am so glad you are here! I am an experienced guitar teacher and a professional musician. I love to play and I love to teach!
One of the most satisfying (and least frustrating) ways of learning the guitar is by learning the songs you love. It is how I did it and it is how I was able to overcome all of the hurdles and challenges of learning the acoustic guitar.
I am just a bit further down the road. Allow me help you on your musical journey to help you play your favorite songs!
Let me tell you a bit of my story and how I think I can help you on your acoustic guitar journey ...
I have been teaching guitar since 2004 (Wow almost 15 years already?) and I love it. I love the sound and the breath of an acoustic guitar and it is definitely my favorite instrument to play and to teach. I love playing and teaching in different genres like Rock, Folk, Americana and Country. I love the sound and the breath of an acoustic guitar and it is definitely my favorite instrument to play and to teach.
I’ve been playing and learning instruments since my first music lesson on the organ when I was 7 which was from my uncle Ron in Vermont. I learned a lot for my music theory background through the Technics Music Academy achieving my grade 6 during lessons till I was 14. I then bought my first drum kit and shortly after joined my first band. I took percussion and piano classes through highschool and eventually buying my first acoustic when I was 17 from a garage sale. Best thing I ever did! I now play several other instruments including Bass, Harmonica, Ukelele and I also sing.
I am also now a recording engineer and producer and I have my own studio in Victoria where I record and teach. Music is full time for me and I wouldn’t change it for the world. I am also now a film/tv artist and composer and I am active in the local community running open mics and showcase nights as well as fundraisers for homeless teens.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope to speak to you soon :)
